The Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University is organizing the European Regional Rounds of the 14th Annual Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, which will take place from 29 to 31 of January 2010.
This Competition is organized annually by the Stetson University College of Law (Gulfport, Florida, the USA) under the auspices of International Law Student Association (ILSA). It offers an out-standing chance to unite students interested in international environmental law throughout the world. The participation in the Competition makes them aware of urgent environmental problems, international legal developments in this field, offers an opportunity to exchange experience, to get new knowledge and makes a valuable contribution to cooperation among universities where students study International Law. Students from India, Australia, Latin America, Northern America, South-Eastern Asia, Africa take part in regional rounds of the Competition each year. This academic year is unique as it will be the starting point of a hopefully long-standing tradition of Environmental Moot Courts in Europe.
The Organizing Committee of the European Regional Round invited teams from Central and Eastern Europe to take part in the first Regional Round for Europe this year. Four teams (from Moscow State Institute of International Affairs, Kharkiv State University, Odessa State University and Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University) are going to compete in Kyiv.
