International Law Competition

19-21 February 2010 in Kiev, the national round of the world-renowned international law competition, named after Philip Jessup (Philip Jessup) took place. This year, despite the unprecedented number of teams (15 have applied to participate, 10 took part in the oral round), the team of the Institute of International Relations, together with a team of National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, won the right to represent Ukraine in the final round of competition to be held in the second half of March in Washington.

The team formed by graduates of the Institute of international relations Alexander Ioffe and Olga Rubel, Elizabeth Badanova (student of I year of master programme (international law)), Ekaterina Busol and Ivan Grechkovsky (IVth year students of international law). The Coach of the team – Volodymir Sologub (law firm “Avelum”).

The team has demonstrated extremely high level in each game (three of four qualifying games were won, as well as the semi-final). The team of IIR has also won the prize of the best speaker (Catherine Busol) and the prize for best written work.

Congratulations to the team! We hope that they will adequately represent the Institute and Ukraine at the international level.
