Round Table on International Criminal Law and Presentation of the Translation of G. Werle’s Textbook “Principles of International Criminal Law”

April 1, 2011.The Chair of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and Ukrainian Association of International Law held a round table on International Criminal Law: Issues of Development, Research and Teaching. Representatives from the leading Ukrainian universities participated in the round table: Lviv National Ivan Franko University; Odessa Law Academy National University; National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine; Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; and University of Economics and Law KROK.
Quite an outstanding event took place during the round table, which was the presentation of the Russian translation of the textbook Principles of International Criminal Law by Professor Gerhard Werle. The author, Gerhard Werle, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Chair of German and International Criminal Law, Criminal Process and Contemporary History of Law from Humboldt University, Berlin, with translator Sergey Sayapin, Programme Officer for the Academic Circles of ICRC Regional Delegation in Central Asia, and publisher Timur Korotkyi, Director of Feniks Publishing House participated in the presentation. The Russian translation Principles of International Criminal Law is the first systematic foreign textbook on international criminal law for students from CIS countries.
