Scientific Association of Students and Postgraduates of Institute of International Relations was founded in 1993. The first Head of SASP became R.Kryvonis, who is now an associate professor in our Institute. A new stage in the activity of SASP was begun in 2002. Then, a decision on free membership in SASP was taken. In 2004 the Charter of Scientific Association of Students and Postgraduates was adopted.
Scientific Association of Institute of International Relations is the member of the Union of Scientific Associations of National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv. Today the total amount of members of SASP exceeds 100 students and postgraduates. The principal organ of the Scientific Association is the General Conference, which is held once a year and in which all members of SASP take part. The General Conference elects the Head of Scientific Association and approves the First deputy of the Head of SASP and the Secretary of SASP. In order to direct operative activity the Head of SASP forms the Coordination Council, which consists of the heads of SASP departments (there are 5 of them now: “international relations”, “international law”, “international economic relations”, “international business”, “international information”), the First deputy and the Secretary of SASP. The present Head of SASP is the student of 4th year of “international relations” department Vyshnyov Victor.
The traditional events, held by SASP, are scientific conferences “Actual problems of international relations” and “Shevchenko’s Spring. Modern state of science: achievements, problems and prospects of development”, in which students and postgraduates from different universities of Ukraine and foreign states actively participate. After the conferences the best articles of young scientists are published in journal “Actual problems of international relations”.  A number of conferences and round tables devoted to the issues of European and Euroatlantic integration of Ukraine, foreign policy of different states, crisis situations in the Caucasus, Middle East and East Asia was held by SASP. Annually Models of such international organizations as  the United Nations, the European Union and NATO take place in the Institute.
During last years Scientific Association of Students and Postgraduates of Institute of International Relations takes leading positions among the Scientific Associations of Students and Postgraduates of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and other universities of Ukraine by the level and the amount of participants of scientific events.
