Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Head of the Chair of World Economy and International Economic Relations, Deputy Director of Institute of International Relations. Professor O. Shnyrkov entered International Relations and International Law Department of Kyiv University in 1973; defended a thesis for Candidate of Sciences degree “Intergovernmental Production Cooperation in Engineering Industry of Socialist Countries” in 1981; took a position of an Assistant Professor in 1981, Associate Professor in 1986, Professor of Chair of International Economic relations in 1997, Deputy Director of Institute of International Relations in 1996; defended a thesis for Doctor of Economics degree “Competition in Economic Interrelations of European Transition Economies” in 1996. Prof. Shnyrkov O. is lecturing in International Economic Relations, Economy of European Countries, Competition in International Business, Competition policy of the EU; has lectured in universities of Padeborn, Berlin (Germany), Hull (the U.K.), Brussels (Belgium). Professor O. Shnyrkov took part in 18 international research and education projects within TEMPUS, TACIS, INTAS, NATO, UNESCO; is a member of Central and Eastern European Association for International Research (Prague, 2000) and the President Council of Central and Eastern European University Network (Udine, 2006); Deputy Chief Editor of Journals “International Relations” (1996), “Modern Problems of International Relations” (1996), Editorial Board Member of “Journal of European Economy” (2001), “Transitional Studies Review” (Munich, 2005); has prepared 17 Candidates of Sciences, and 1 Doctor of Science. Awards: 1998 – Award for excellence in education in Ukraine, 2002 – Research award by “Philip Morris” company, Award by the Minister for International Relations of Ukraine and Award by the Head of Kyiv State Administration, 2007 – Honored education worker. Professor O. Shnyrkov is the author of about 200 research publications. Monographs: (1996) Competition in Economic Interrelations of European Transition Economies, (2003) Competition Policy of the European Union, (2005) Trade Policy of the European Union, (2008) European Union in Global Innovation Space.
