The main directions of the department members are:

Comparative civil law:
The professors pay much attention to the theoretical aspects of the private law, the principles, content, essence and consistency. The particular civil law parts are researched in comparative aspect. The results of the research were reflected in Ukrainian legislation including laws of Ukraine.

Private international law:
The special attention is paid to the theory of the private international law. Based on the best practices of the Department’s professors, the Law of Ukraine “On Private International Law” was elaborated and adopted.
